What is a Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevus?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A giant congenital melanocytic nevus is a benign formation consisting of a cluster of melanocytes (cells that produce the pigment melanin) on the skin. Such nevi can appear on various parts of the body, including the face, and are large in size, sometimes reaching several centimeters in diameter.<\/p>\n

Causes of Appearance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

These formations develop due to abnormal melanocyte development during the intrauterine period. Although the nevi themselves usually do not cause any problems, they require attention and monitoring as they may increase the risk of developing melanoma (skin cancer).<\/p>\n
