Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation (augmentation mammoplasty) allows you to give the breasts a more feminine shape and desired contours.
The Essence of the Operation
Duration
On average, this operation lasts 2 to 2.5 hours. When performing breast reconstruction after a mastectomy, the operation can last up to 5 hours.
Pain Relief
Depending on the volume and complexity of the operation, general anesthesia or local anesthesia in combination with intravenous sedation may be used.
Hospitalization
The duration of hospitalization is determined by the operating surgeon.

Possible Side Effects
After surgery, there is temporary discomfort associated with swelling, bruising, changes in nipple sensitivity (either increased or decreased), and soreness or hypersensitivity when touching the breasts, which may last for one to two weeks.
Possible Risks
Possible risks associated with implants include implant rupture, displacement, or deformation; the formation of rough scar tissue around the implant (capsular contracture), which can lead to painful sensations and noticeable hardening of the breast; and the risk of infection and inflammation.
Rehabilitation Period
Patients can usually return to work a few days after surgery, but any physical impact on the chest and surrounding area should be avoided for a month. Special compression garments are required: they must be worn constantly for the first month and during the daytime for the second month. It is recommended to have at least two sets to maintain hygiene.
