A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure aimed at improving the contours of the breast without changing its volume.
The Essence of the Operation
Duration
On average, the operation lasts 2-3 hours.
Pain Relief
Most often, the operation is performed under general anesthesia, but in some cases, local anesthesia combined with intravenous sedation is used.
Hospitalization
The duration of hospitalization is determined by the surgeon. Most often, patients can be discharged on the day of surgery.

Possible Side Effects
The most likely side effects after a breast lift or mastopexy include bruising, swelling, slight discomfort in the surgical area, and numbness or increased sensitivity of the skin.
Possible complications
Possible complications include the formation of keloid scars, the risk of infection, asymmetry of the nipples, and loss of sensitivity in the nipples and/or certain areas of the breast skin.
Rehabilitation Period
Patients can return to work within the first seven days after surgery. Strenuous activities are allowed no earlier than one month after surgery.
Results
The results of the operation are long-lasting; however, factors such as pregnancy, age-related changes, and fluctuations in body weight can lead to recurrent ptosis (sagging) of the breast. The results of the operation can be enhanced by the insertion of implants.
