We often encounter patients who have suffered injuries in childhood and are now facing complications. The photos presented here depict the case of a patient who sustained a nasal injury at the age of 13. At that time, a nasal bone reduction was performed, but it did not yield the desired results for restoring proper nasal breathing.
Subsequently, to improve nasal passage patency, the patient underwent septoplasty twice, as well as turbinate resection. Unfortunately, the results were unsatisfactory: the structure of the nasal cartilage was severely compromised, and the lack of a proper framework led to further issues.
To restore nasal breathing, it was necessary to harvest rib cartilage, specifically from the seventh or eighth rib. From this material, we reconstructed all the necessary cartilage structures for normal nasal function and aesthetics, creating a sturdy support for the skin.
The results of the surgery exceeded all expectations! The patient now reports that their nasal breathing is full and unobstructed. As you can see in the photos, the changes in appearance are remarkable! The patient also noted that after the improvement in breathing quality, it became easier to maintain an active lifestyle, which, in turn, helped them lose 8 kg.
Now, our patient is enjoying a new life with a renewed sense of self. Their confidence has grown, and harmony with themselves and the world around them has become an important part of their new journey.
