Also known as Big Face Lifting, this method was developed by plastic surgeon Chia Chi Kao. Our doctor, Irina Ilinichna Sarkisyan, studied with him in Istanbul in 2024. She also attended a master class at the World Congress of Plastic Surgeons in Colombia.

Russian stars, including Victoria Bonya, often go abroad for this high-cost operation. However, it can now be performed at the ForMe clinic in St. Petersburg under the guidance of experienced surgeons.

Advantages of the Procedure:

• Minimal invasiveness: Only small incisions are used, reducing injury and the risk of complications.

• Fast recovery: Compared to a traditional facelift, the recovery period is short, allowing patients to return to normal life quickly.

• No visible scars: The incisions are hidden in the scalp, making them almost invisible.

• Natural appearance: Provides a natural look without the mask effect.

• Compatibility with other procedures: Can be combined with blepharoplasty and chin liposuction.

This method differs from other facelifts, such as the classic SMAS or Nefertiti thread lifting. It is a deep flat facelift without scarring and with hidden incisions, creating a more toned and youthful silhouette.

How is the Operation Done?

The procedure begins with a consultation with a surgeon who evaluates the condition of the facial skin and discusses the patient’s expectations. Once the date is set, necessary examinations are carried out.

The technique is performed under general anesthesia. During the operation, the surgeon makes small incisions along the hairline, similar to an endoscopic lift, but the detachment occurs in a different layer. The central area of the face is lifted, and the skin is stretched vertically, creating the effect of a tightly tied ponytail.

The Ponytail Lift is appreciated for its minimally invasive nature, rapid recovery, and absence of visible scars, which has contributed to its popularity.

Rehabilitation

After surgery, small bruises and swelling may appear. These should not cause concern as they typically subside within two weeks.

Patients should avoid intensive combing, coloring, and hair styling until the stitches are completely healed. Hair should be washed gently with a mild shampoo. During the first month after surgery, physical activity, saunas, and solariums should be limited.
